Join the Shirley-Eustis House Volunteer Team and Become a Docent!
The Shirley-Eustis House is always seeking individuals who care about people, are excited about sharing their knowledge, open to trying new techniques of communicating with the public, and most of all, love and care about history! If you have a background in customer service, history, or education, all the better.
Our Volunteer Docent training involves more than just learning about our history and exhibits. We give you the tools to quickly become familiar with your audience so you can personalize each tour and visit. In short, your main role as Volunteer Docent is to make your audience feel welcome by sharing your enthusiasm and inspiring them to learn – and then learn more by returning for repeat visits.
New training sessions will begin this April. Please call or email Una McMahon about this great opportunity!
All docents must submit a resume and fill out an application. You will be contacted about an interview. You can apply online if you want. Click Here to fill out your on-line application or edit your already submitted application.
